![]() ![]() I don't see too much information about the C50 posted, given its very steep price unless you know a guy. ![]() Another quick plus to the C50 before I finish is the capability for conformal filters which sit flush with the mask, this results even on bulky cbrn filters in much less wasted space.Īlso nice 2020 date, only thing I have that's 2020 is a GSR lmao. I'd disagree however with you saying these are not worth it, these absolutely are especially for actual use such as prepping, even against other 5th gens such as the GSR (which I actually shill and defend quite a bit) it excells and while I do not own a M15 I'd rather have a C50 for actual use than any other respirstor in my collection, including my favorite type of respirator the S10 (fantastic for its time but is now showing its age). The blanking plug isn't an issue at all either, they made tools for them to make absolutely sure it wasn't accidently loosened in some way shape or form and Avon have recently started offering a secondary speech module option on them (tldr: a diaphragm in the blanking plug).Īs for comfort and fogging up issues tough shit I'm afraid respirators are made with the primary concern being protection and while comfort is pretty important and companies do put effort into comfort it simply isn't the primary concern for cbrn equipment, and being drilled to get rid of moisture via leaning forwards isn't the end of the world and with the comparison to previous American masks being able to auto drain moisture: they were replaced for being too complex and having too many parts.Īlso as you mentioned it's overall a very comfy mask, being able to wear it for 3 hours + without becoming too uncomfortable is actually pretty impressive especially compared to the 4th gens that came before it such as the S10 and FM12.Īlso with the drinking system, imo the Avon drinking system is one of the best, possibly the only one that actually outdoes it being the Scott GSR drinking system, and with the straw eh it's actually not that bad especially compared to S10s and FM12s and it's another one of those things you sort of need to just get used to. The lack of a speech diaphragm imo is actually not a bad thing as it does have very very good capability for integrated comms and avons speech cone thingy seems to work fine for the most part on all their masks they've used it on, actuslly outdoes certain speech diaphragms and it has the added benefit of cutting down on parts and complexity which for cbrn equipment is always a plus. Good review but there are a few points I disagree with, namely from the diaphragm, blanking plug and comfort angle. ![]()
