![]() ![]() I don't see too much information about the C50 posted, given its very steep price unless you know a guy. ![]() Another quick plus to the C50 before I finish is the capability for conformal filters which sit flush with the mask, this results even on bulky cbrn filters in much less wasted space.Īlso nice 2020 date, only thing I have that's 2020 is a GSR lmao. I'd disagree however with you saying these are not worth it, these absolutely are especially for actual use such as prepping, even against other 5th gens such as the GSR (which I actually shill and defend quite a bit) it excells and while I do not own a M15 I'd rather have a C50 for actual use than any other respirstor in my collection, including my favorite type of respirator the S10 (fantastic for its time but is now showing its age). The blanking plug isn't an issue at all either, they made tools for them to make absolutely sure it wasn't accidently loosened in some way shape or form and Avon have recently started offering a secondary speech module option on them (tldr: a diaphragm in the blanking plug).Īs for comfort and fogging up issues tough shit I'm afraid respirators are made with the primary concern being protection and while comfort is pretty important and companies do put effort into comfort it simply isn't the primary concern for cbrn equipment, and being drilled to get rid of moisture via leaning forwards isn't the end of the world and with the comparison to previous American masks being able to auto drain moisture: they were replaced for being too complex and having too many parts.Īlso as you mentioned it's overall a very comfy mask, being able to wear it for 3 hours + without becoming too uncomfortable is actually pretty impressive especially compared to the 4th gens that came before it such as the S10 and FM12.Īlso with the drinking system, imo the Avon drinking system is one of the best, possibly the only one that actually outdoes it being the Scott GSR drinking system, and with the straw eh it's actually not that bad especially compared to S10s and FM12s and it's another one of those things you sort of need to just get used to. The lack of a speech diaphragm imo is actually not a bad thing as it does have very very good capability for integrated comms and avons speech cone thingy seems to work fine for the most part on all their masks they've used it on, actuslly outdoes certain speech diaphragms and it has the added benefit of cutting down on parts and complexity which for cbrn equipment is always a plus. Good review but there are a few points I disagree with, namely from the diaphragm, blanking plug and comfort angle. ![]()

![]() ![]() This ramp is a core part of how everyone experiences artwork in the building, and it’s inherently accessible. (Image credit: Evan-Amos) ( Large preview) A view of the Guggenheim Museum’s iconic interior spiral ramp and atrium. In this museum, all of the exhibits and artworks are arranged around a large, accessible ramp that spirals down through the various levels of the building, as depicted in the image below. ![]() Let’s compare this approach to a famous piece of architecture, the Guggenheim museum in New York City. Our accessibility-first approach ensures that accessibility is a core to the chart’s visual design without compromising focus, sacrificing readability, or adding unnecessary chartjunk. This is why we’d like to focus on visual design for now. Believe it or not, the majority of these questions focus on accessible chart colors, encodings, and visual design. Over the past two years, our team has fielded a lot of questions on data accessibility. There are many ways to make data accessible, but for now, let’s focus on our accessibility-first approach to visual design. Through this process, we’ve learned a lot, and it has completely changed the way we think about representing data. To do this right, we typically validate our ideas with an accessibility testing team, and we codesign our solutions with people who have disabilities. Similar to mobile-first, the accessibility first approach considers accessibility requirements and constraints at the very beginning of the design process. An Accessibility-First Approach Led To A Better Visual Design As part of our mission of organizing the world’s information and making it universally accessible, it’s our responsibility to be good citizens of the web by making data accessible to everyone. For most of these people, the value and insights provided by a chart get lost, and in some cases, the chart provides little-to-no information. These people are typically not relying on assistive technology, like screen readers, to consume web content, and they will be the focus of our case study. We also know that color blindness affects 1 in 12 men worldwide. ![]() According to the National Federation of the Blind, 7.6M people in the United States have a vision disability. Visualizations only work well for those who can fully see. The Need For Accessible Data Experiences Data Visualizations Are Ableist We felt strongly that accessibility transcends compliance and that we had an opportunity to create something that is truly useful. However, as we continued to fulfill our mission, we realized our work wasn’t as inclusive as we had hoped, and as we started embracing new accessibility standards, we realized we had more work to do. Our team, a passionate group of designers, researchers and engineers, also wrote Material Design’s data visualization guidelines. Early on, we created several prominently featured visualizations in many Google products. Kai joined shortly after the team was formed. In 2018, Kent was a founding member of Google Cloud’s first dedicated data visualization team. Have you heard the claim that designing for accessibility leads to a better outcome for everyone? Here’s a story about how an accessibility-first approach led to an overall better visual design for a chart. We will also discuss how this approach led us to an unexpected yet better outcome for everyone. Throughout the article, we will highlight how we used the seemingly constraining Web Content Accessibility Standards (WCAG) to become an empowering factor in our design process. Using a data visualization case study, we will explore how an accessibility-first approach led us down the path of creating a better visual design for charts. ![]() ![]() ![]() It is calculated from the data of modified Mazda Protege that switched to custom wheel size preserving the proper driving capabilities of the vehicle. There was not too much room in the rear, but two adults could fit well. Depending on the version, Mazda offered the 323 with either bucket seats or with high-bolstered seats for the front passengers. Inside, the 323 featured the same plain design with straight lines like it was at the beginning of the '80s. Still, there was a shy tendency to soften the edges on the hood and the rear quarter panels. The straight lines and flat body panels of the 323 were similar to some of the '80s European cars. While other carmakers already started to round up their vehicles' design, Mazda played the last card for a wedged-shaped vehicle. Depending on the engine version, it could have been fuel-efficient or quick on its feet. It shared some components with the European Ford Escort since Ford was a big stakeholder in Mazda. It was a complete evolution over its predecessor and an important step toward getting more traction on the European market. The 1989 323 sedan might have looked like a facelifted version for the fifth generation, but it wasn't. The sedan was more family-oriented, and it was named Protege on the North American market. The Ability Of A Battery To Reserve Capacity – Interstate SRM batteries, along with other top brands, make a point to increase the “amperage capacity” of their cells from as minimal to 550 (which is high enough) to 650 or even 850 CCA. – This problem is, even more, the case when “deep cycling” because a marine vehicle or boat needs to possess both a “starting motor charge” (a starter) and “trolling motor charge” (a deep cycle)-imagine if you do not own the bolts for that (yikes!). – Temperature is one of the primary enemies of a battery in almost every way because it reduces the amount of “floating” voltage the cell contains from the last re-charge session. – The “cold cranking” process usually falls under the label of a CCA rating, as in “cold cranking” amperage-you can think of the amperage as sort of an exchange rate in the voltage you want to use. – “Cold Cranking” is an off-shoot term that relates to how a battery can produce a currency exchange to a vehicle even under the demands of a cold (or warm) environment-adaptive to temperature variations in a way. The Ability Of A Battery To Create A “Cold Crank” – For these reasons, the structure or many brands put a premium on specifically reducing shock attacks from the outside, internal vibration resistance from the inside-and Interstate does this quite well in their SRM series. – Sometimes, the battery from the inside (internal) suffers from spilling or leaking and causes all sorts of sulfating processes to occur, making the sulfate crystallize to the point of “grease and grime”-causing internal resistance or vibration. – The “internal” stuff (problems) usually falls under the “structure” of a battery, which means good battery cell movement within the battery and a safe non-leak, non-spill of the generation material of the battery (the sulfate that is inside). – The “external” problems are usually the ones you can expect when the casing of a battery gets hit or receives a “shock” from a hard or sharp object from the outside-some brands use quite a compact and sturdy design for this very reason. – An essential manufacturing process and priority that many brands focus on can produce a product that can withstand external problems and internal problems, which can be detrimental to maritime operations. It is even more of noteworthy praise that Interstate not only performs well within the market and that it is usually within the playing field of either a top 10 or a top 5 (or even a top 3), depending on the reviews you are reading.Īlthough this review is a tad bit in bias-just a tad bit-when it comes to a report due to the focus being on these Interstate marine batteries-specifically, their “deep cycling” SRM models of 24, 27, 29.īut, not to disrespect the overall performers in the battery market, there are performance markers that Interstate shares with other top performers that you will want to consider: 1. When it comes to high-performers, there is probably no question that Interstate is consistent when it comes to playing the battery game-along with other performance players, of course.
